Breath, Body & Meaning

The survival of societies across millennia reveals that the arts restore,  enliven, and transform. This three-hour session is carved out for discovery, play, and self-care within community. Join Dr. Bagnini and a small group of participants for The Grove’s first hosted & guided expressive arts gathering. Perhaps you are a parent, grandparent, or a combination caregiver. You will take away the possibilities embedded in what connects us to ourselves and one another– plus, it’s fun!

Space is limited, Tickets are $37 and include all supplies and refreshments (though you’re welcome to bring your favorite supplies and a journal or tablet if you’d like). Tickets can be purchased here.

Meet the artist

Dr. Karen Bagnini

Karen has practiced for 27 years in public schools and in out-patient, community-based mental health clinics in Boston, New York City, and Pike County. She has been teaching the creative arts therapy elective at the NYU Silver School of Social Work since 2017 and practices as a mental health consultant at the Delaware Valley Job Corps Center.

As a lifelong musician, Karen integrated passions by obtaining two master’s degrees and a doctoral degree in educational leadership.  She is a licensed creative arts therapist and a licensed clinical social worker in both New York State and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Karen is an editorial board member of the Journal of Family Social Work, where she stays connected to innovation in the field.  Somewhere between practicing, teaching, performing, creating, and listening to others’ stories, Karen enjoys being on the board of The Grove, connecting with family and friends, cooking, laughing, reading, watching movies, growing things, and being outside.
